ProjectsElectric Transmission America is at work on these two joint ventures: Prairie Wind Transmission, LLC: a joint venture company with Westar Energy Inc.to build and own new electric transmission assets in Kansas. The ETA and Westar joint venture, named Prairie Wind Transmission LLC, is proposing to build approximately 110 miles of extra-high voltage 765-kilovolt transmission facilities linking a new 765/345-kV substation near Wichita, KS to a new 765/345-kV substation northeast of Medicine Lodge, KS, near the new Flat Ridge Wind Farm jointly owned by Westar Energy and BP Alternative, and then south to the Kansas/Oklahoma border. The project will provide enhanced electricity transport in Kansas and support expansion of renewable electricity generation in the region. Tallgrass Transmission, LLC: a joint venture with OGE Energy Corp. to build and own new electric transmission assets in Oklahoma. The joint venture, Tallgrass Transmission LLC, will build approximately 170 miles of extra-high voltage 765-kilovolt transmission from the Kansas-Oklahoma border north of Woodward, Okla., that will link into OGE’s station at Woodward and then extend west into the Oklahoma panhandle to a new station that will be built near Guymon, Okla. |
